The Werkstatt is an event location and restaurant all rolled into one. Weekdays (Mo–Th.) between 11.30 a.m. and 2.30 p.m. Campus tenants and visitors can enjoy urban street food made using predominantly regional products. The large foyer offers seating for about 60 guests. In summer, the terrace offers space for around 40 more people.
The concept of the Werkstatt is based on sustainability. The ingredients come from local farms, which reduces CO2 for transport. Take the WERKSTATT BURGER, for example, a classic burger made from the very best Angus beef from Spreewald. In addition, the Werkstatt’s regular offering includes creative (vegetarian) burgers, Berlin-style “Currywurst” sausage, hand-cut chips and poké bowls. There are lemonades and smoothies to drink from Proviant fruit drink maker in Berlin-Kreuzberg, straight from the bottle, of course, in order to avoid producing plastic and save the water which would be needed to wash glasses. “Andraschko” coffee and tea specialities are also available at the Werkstatt.
