EUREF-Campus 21-22

In addition to the Gasometer, another new building has been ready for occupancy since summer 2018: the EUREF-Campus 21-22 has a total area of 12,000 square meters. Glass bands run across the curved facade. An alternating of light – luminous strips and light points show the contours of the building even at night.

The architecture was technologically perfected in cooperation with Deutsche Bahn in order to achieve optimal floor plans and at the same time top energy efficiency values. Deutsche Bahn is therefore using part of the building to test new room concepts on three floors, both with open-plan, flexible and individual workplaces. The technical equipment of all new buildings is also very high. We think critically about the way in which we use new technical possibilities. In addition to the solid technology of the control elements, usability, ease of maintenance and durability must also be taken into account. Moreover, in our buildings, windows can always be opened and there are walkouts and roof terraces. The creation of open spaces with rest areas, deck chairs, special plants and art objects is an essential part of the architectural design.

The building was planned and constructed in accordance with the requirements of the KfW energy efficiency program – Building and Renovation (276, 277, 278) – in the Efficiency House 55 Standard. The office building was constructed by the general contractor Wolff & Müller to be 100% CO2 neutral – Wolff & Müller compensates for all unavoidable CO2 emissions by supporting the environmental foundation NatureLife-International for reforestation on the Philippine island of Leyte – to protect the rainforest and as a livelihood for the people. This climate protection project is certified by TÜV Rheinland.
